William Duggan was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he worked for many years as a graphic designer and illustrator. He has been drawing all his life, although it wasn't until his late twenties that he began to paint. William enjoys all manner of animals, natural wildlife, rural farm scenery and the beauty of his native province. He inherited a keen love of nature from his father, who also shares a profound reverence for the natural environment. He is known for contemporary realistic paintings of landscapes and flowers. Animals, however, are his passion. From his very first paintings, William has portrayed animals with an intimacy that brings creatures of all sizes to life. Painstaking efforts are evident in his brushwork which render unity to his images. William currently works and lives in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, with his family. |
